Jon was born in Indiana and has been a resident of Porter County, Indiana for 44 years. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University Bloomington and then a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis.

Jon became Of Counsel to Langer & Langer on February 1, 2009. Before that, he practiced for 41 years at one of the leading defense firms in Indiana. Jon has tried medical malpractice cases, hospital liability cases, semi truck crashes, product liability cases, civil rights cases and insurance coverage cases. He has been involved in these types of cases over the entire State of Indiana and in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan. His present practice areas are: wrongful death, truck crashes, uninsured and underinsured insurance claims, medical malpractice and personal injury cases.

By invitation, Jon is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. By invitation, he holds the rank of Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. By invitation, he was a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel but has relinquished membership in that organization because of his representation of injured people. He is also a Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation. He enjoys an A.V. Preeminent rating by Martindale Hubbell. He has been recognized as an Indiana Super Lawyer for a number of years. Jon has previously served as a member of the Merit Selection Committee for Magistrate Judges for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. He has also served as a member of the Local Rules Committee for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. He has previously been a member of the Board of Visitors at Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis. He is the legal advisor to the Honorable Sonya Morris, Judge of the East Chicago City Court.

Jon has been a presenter at Continuing Legal Education programs in Indiana dealing with hospital liability and medical malpractice, trial techniques for medical malpractice cases, and uninsured and underinsured motorist cases.

Jon is active in alumni matters at Indiana University Bloomington and the School of Law at Indianapolis. When not involved with representing clients and legal matters, Jon enjoys the sights and sounds of Chicago. He is an avid traveler. He and his wife, Sandra, live in the Indiana Dunes along the shores of Lake Michigan.
